Ovarian cancer is one of the cancers that controls the growth of cells in the ovary and produces many cells, and destroys healthy body tissues the disease accumulates in the reproductive system of the ovaries.

What Is Ovarian Cancer?

Cancer that infects over tissue is called ovarian cancer. Ovaries are reproductive glands in the female body. Eggs are produced in these. Along with ovulation, the ovaries produce the hormones estrogen and progesterone. Epithelial carcinoma and malignant germ cell tumors are two types of cancer that affect the ovaries. If cancer cells develop on the surface of the ovaries, it is called epithelial carcinoma. Malignant germ cell tumors grow from ovarian cells.

Some Of The Main Causes Of Ovarian Cancer Are:

  • Cancer in previous generations
  • People with breast, cervical, colon, or prostate cancer are more likely to develop this disease.
  • Women over 55 are more likely to develop the disease.
  • Not getting pregnant
  • Fertility drugs
  • Estrogen therapy and hormone therapy.

Symptoms Of Ovarian Cancer:

Early symptoms of the disease may go unrecognized. Symptoms become more pronounced as cancer progresses. The disease usually shows the following:

  • Pain in the Abdomen, pelvic region, Back, Legs
  • Bloating
  • Abdominal Tumor
  • Nausea, Indigestion, Gas, Constipation, or Diarrhea.
  • Loss of appetite, weight loss
  • Fatigue/Lethargy.

Some Common Features Are:

  • Irregular breathing
  • Frequent urge to urinate
  • Menstruation or heavy bleeding during menstruation.

Ovarian Cancer Tests:

Even if symptoms of cancer appear, diagnostic imaging, biopsy, and other tests can confirm the presence or absence of cancer. The following tests can be done to diagnose the disease:

  • Abdominal and abdominal ultrasound
  • Transvaginal ultrasound
  • Barium enema X-ray
  • Computed tomography (CT) scan
  • Magnetic resonance imaging (MI) scan
  • A positron emission tomography (PET) scan
  • Laparoscopy
  • Colonoscopy
  • Blood tests like CA-125, AFP, Beta-HCG & LDH.

Ovarian Cancer Treatment Options:

Treatment may include surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, or any combination of these. A surgeon may surgically remove one or both ovaries. Chemotherapy uses anti-cancer drugs to kill cancer cells or stop them from growing. Radiation therapy uses very powerful radiation beams to destroy cancer cells. Or preventing them from growing. This radiation therapy is used when cancer has spread to other organs in the body, such as bones or the brain.
